The basics

How a slider works

A slider is two halves held together by magnets. Push one half past the other and the magnets snap from one position to the next. Each snap is a click.

Delta and Echo sliders are 3-click. Mini is a 1-click slider, with a 2-click tune available on Mini V2. Every slider is built from the same four parts, and three of them can be swapped.

BodyThe shape in your hand and the material it's made from. Material sets the weight: plastic and Richlite are light, aluminum sits in the middle, titanium is the heaviest.
CassetteThe insert inside each half that holds the magnets in position. Swap it to change the magnet layout.
MagnetsSmall disc magnets that create the clicks. Stronger magnets give a firmer pull. Lighter magnets move faster and let go more easily.
Slide platesThe two faces that glide against each other. Plate material changes how smooth, how tactile, and how loud your slider is.

Material changes the weight

The same shape feels very different in different materials. An Echo Ergo weighs about 28 g in Richlite, 42 g in aluminum, and 49 g in titanium. Stainless steel slide plates add roughly 10 to 15 g on top.

Plastic, Richlite, carbon fiber, Micarta, and resin bodies are made in our Charlotte shop. Metal bodies are machined to our spec overseas, then assembled and tuned in Charlotte.

What does "Pro" mean?

Pro sliders add a metal thread plate to a non-metal body, so you can swap plates and magnets again and again without wearing out the threads. Pro never changes which parts fit. More in the compatibility guide.

Tune the feel

Slide plates

Plates are the quickest way to change how a slider feels and sounds. They come off with two screws, and every plate fits every slider in its family.

Guides

Hands on

Cassette & magnet quick-swap guide

A full swap takes a few minutes. Work over a tray or a towel so nothing rolls away.

What you'll need

  • The right driver for your screws. Current sliders use Torx T6. Some earlier Tiles use Hex 1.5 mm or Phillips PH 1.5.
  • A small stack of spare disc magnets to pull magnets free.
  • A small flat-head screwdriver.
  1. Remove both slide plates with your driver.
  2. Touch your stack of spare magnets to any magnet in the cassette and pull it free. Some magnets hold tighter than others and may take a few pulls.
  3. Slide the flat-head into the empty pocket and gently pry the cassette out.
  4. Press the new cassette in until it sits fully nested in the body.
  5. Load the magnets into one half. All eight go in with the same pole facing up.A metal tray underneath helps hold them in place.
  6. Flip your magnet stack over to reverse the polarity, then load the other half.
  7. Reinstall both slide plates. Snug is enough.Go gently on resin and 3D printed bodies, and on Pro sliders with metal plates. Overtightening can damage the threads.

Magnets are small and strong. Please keep them away from children and pets.
