Magnet Configuration Guide
Choose Your Magnet Feel
Every (non-Mini) Tile uses an 8-magnet (3-click) layout on each side for a consistent, satisfying slide. We offer four configurations: Strongest, Strong, Medium, and Weak. Medium is our default, it’s the best balance of control and ease for most people.
Go with Medium Default
- Lighter pull with a clear snap.
- Easy learning curve for new users.
- Great for casual fidgeting and daily carry.
Choose Strong
- More hold for “around-the-world” moves.
- Balanced pull and control for practice.
Pick Strongest
- Extra pull that pairs well with weight.
- We don’t recommend going below Strong on Titanium.
How the magnets are arranged
“Hybrid” configurations mix magnet strengths by position to tune the feel.

FAQs
What does “hybrid” mean?
We mix magnet strengths by position. Corners and centers can use different sizes or grades to tune the feel.
How do I tell magnets apart from one another?
When installed by us, N42 magnets are marked with 1 dot, N35 magnets are marked with 2 dots. If magnets are ordered as spare parts, they are packed and labeled in their own zip-bags. We recommend marking them with a sharpie prior to install.
Will a lighter setup fall apart?
Medium is reliable for everyday use. For high-movement tricks, choose Strong or Strongest.
What do the grades (N35, N42, N48, N52) mean?
They are material grades that correlate with magnetic strength. Higher number ≈ stronger pull, all else equal.
Do Minis use the same layout?
Mini Tiles use a different layout. This page covers our standard 2×4 array for non-Mini Tiles.
Safety & care
- Magnets are small — keep away from children and pets.
- Avoid proximity to pacemakers or sensitive electronics.
- Don’t let magnets snap together unshielded on hard surfaces.
